Ed brings a strong background in web and print to his position as head of content at Efferent. His journalistic resume is extensive, including 12 years as a reporter with the New York Post where he gained experience putting himself in widely varied environments, from covering both the rich and famous of new York City as well as the poor and underprivileged.
Ed moved to Long island where he became the founding Editor of the Massapequa Patch. He built successful a news organization almost from scratch; writing and editing, running the news operation, covering crime scenes and public meetings while building relationships throughout the community. Under his leadership and expertise, Massapequa Patch grew into one of the top news sites in the area.
Ed also worked with the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business where he wrote articles and blog posts for their publication “Chicago Booth Review.” Ed enjoys writing about complicated concepts so writing about research conducted by the school’s professors came easy to him. He possesses a unique ability to break down complexities in his writing so his readers easily gain understanding.
He acquired some of these skills while earning a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law. But his passion lies in media. He loves to write, and even enjoys acting, and would like to eventually write and direct a film one day.
He thrives on knowledge, creativity work ethic, as well as a team environment, and has an incredible sense of humor, making Ed a perfect fit at Efferent.
Ed is an avid sports fan and has even attended several big sporting events including three World Series, two Super Bowls, the Summer Olympics and the Stanley Cup Finals to name just a few.
Ed enjoys some quiet down time as well; he has a beautiful wife and two sons he cannot wait to get home to each day. They enjoy traveling and learning about new things together. One of their hobbies as a family is to travel upstate frequenting New York’s few remaining drive-in movie theaters.
