Michael calls himself a “jack-of-all-trades” and he brings an eclectic skill set to Efferent Media. He has a background in customer service, sales, photography, film, writing and technology. As a junior search specialist, Michael is Efferent’s first employee to earn a certificate as a Yext certified professional. Yext is a platform that allows businesses big and small to control how their information about their companies are seen on numerous websites. Michael will serve as a liaison between Efferent’s clients and Yext.
He comes to Efferent from a Long Island staffing agency, where he assisted employees and served as a troubleshooter in the company’s payroll department. Prior to that, he served as a photographer, photo editor and worked in sales and customer service for Lifetouch Portrait Studios, Inc. at locations in Levittown and Massapequa. He’s also worked for an insurance agency and for a technology company that develops bar code scanners.
Photography isn’t Michael’s only skill as he has a decidedly artistic bent. He spent a year at film school and also studied English and Philosophy at Nassau Community College and McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
He writes both fiction and non-fiction in his spare time, with much of his writing dedicated to the fantasy genre. Michael has been playing Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop roleplaying games for most of his life. He puts together scenarios for these games as well and creates rules and other technical writing.
Mike’s happy to be bringing his skills to Efferent.
“I’ve always wanted to learn and understand everything, and social media content marketing is one of the few fields where I can put that entire web of knowledge to use,” he says.
“When a friend who works here mentioned a new position opening up, I couldn’t pass up the chance. What more can I ask for than interesting work with fun coworkers?”
