Eileen McGovern
Director of Search
Eileen is a whiz at just about every aspect of digital marketing from Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to Pay Per Click. She also has experience in social media and website design, and she brought all of these talents to her position when she first joined Efferent Media as search coordinator.
A wide variety of interests outside the office keeps Eileen busy, from charitable fundraising to theater and other arts. She came to Efferent Media after entering the world of marketing by accident.

I was once attacked by a duck.
“I got into marketing by mistake,” she said. “I wanted to be a freelance writer. I got into SEO because of my writing abilities and found that I really enjoyed the analytical and technical aspects of SEO. To me, everything stems from solid SEO, whether it’s social, PPC, or email marketing.”
Prior to joining the Efferent Media team, Eileen served as an SEO and Pay Per Click specialist for several agencies and private companies. She currently holds certifications for Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft (Bing) Ads, and general SEO. She earned her dual Bachelor’s Degree with Honors from Stony Brook University, double majoring in history and religious studies.
During her tenure at Efferent Media, Eileen has strengthened connections between SEO and Pay Per Click, creating effective, holistic strategies for our clients that deliver results and increase conversions while being cost efficient. She also does a terrific job finding new PPC platforms and matching them to the right client for optimized resutls. All of that combined with refining and enhancing practices in the SEO department led to Eileen being named Director of Search.
Eileen has a tremendous love for animals and is proud of her work with the non-profit organization Pets for Vets, which pairs rescue dogs with veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. She’s also helped raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society via the Long Island Brain Tumor Walk, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and various animal shelters.
“I’d love to be a nature/animal photojournalist,” she said. “I follow a number of photographers and journalists on Instagram who do amazing work to bring light to environmental and animal conservation issues.”
Eileen loves hockey in general and the New York Rangers in particular. She “obsessed” with science fiction, particularly tar Wars, Star Trek, Dune and Doctor Who, and she enjoys spending time with her pitbull Lucy and her fiancée.
