James Vasquez

Director of New Business Development

James brings 25 years of experience in marketing and development to Efferent Media. In his position as Director of New Business Development he works with business owners to build their companies and brands using both traditional and online media. Having similar views on business, and having been presented with compelling goals, he accepted Joe’s recruitment offer and joined the team.

Prior to his tenure with Efferent Media, James had an extensive resume in both print and digital media. He has been the owner of several marketing companies including DVO Advertising, Inc., and Digital Marketing Experts, Inc. among others. During this time James designed and launched numerous campaigns including the Juicy Drop Pop brand while at The Topps Company, which became the company’s 3rd largest brand with sales revenue of more than $42 million.

Benched 425-lbs once and used to be a competitive BMX freestyle flatland rider

He followed that up on the speaking circuit, appearing at multiple national conferences with ABC Television star and entrepreneur Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank, educating professionals and business owners on digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and business.

James takes greatest pride in two accomplishments though. Top of the list is managing to raise three boys into responsible, respectful, and caring young men. Coming in at second place is starting a business and building it to two locations, employing a dozen people, and making a positive impact in the community.

James is proud to have supported many charitable organizations with everything from professional services to serving on their boards, including the Make a Wish Foundation, Queing for a Cause, Contractors for Kids, and Entrepreneurs Organization.

When not busy at Efferent Media, James is the outdoorsy type. If he is not hiking, at the beach, or working out, he can generally be found embarking on new adventures with his three sons and fiancé, whether those be to the movie theater or on the road travelling.

Little known trivia about James: he used to be an Airwalk® Shoes-sponsored competitive BMX Flatland Trick Freestyler, and he also played high school football with NFL Green Bay Packers Superbowl® champion, Gary Brown.
