How we work

Leads Are Not the Point. Customers Are.

Most marketing reports stop at the lead, because that is where the ad platform's job ends. Ours keep going, to the customer who booked the job and the patient who kept the appointment.

How does working with Efferent Media start?

It starts with a free marketing audit, not a sales call. You send a two-minute form, we spend about two hours building an audit of your competitors, your wasted spend and your missed demand, and we deliver it within 48 hours. Only then do we get on a 30-minute call to walk through it. If we are not the right fit, we say so on that call.

  • 48 hours. From request to delivered audit.
  • No contract to see it. No card, no obligation, no discovery call first.
  • Customers, not clicks. Reporting stops at the booked job, not at the lead.

The difference

There Are Two Versions of Your Marketing Report.

One is built from what the ad platforms report about themselves. The other is built from what happened in your business. They rarely agree, and only one of them pays anybody.

What most reports count

Activity the platform can see. It ends at the lead, because that is where the platform's job ends.

What we count

The customer who booked the job, or the patient who kept the appointment. Everything before that is a step, not a result.

The report you get

Clicks

A number that rises whenever the budget rises. It cannot tell a homeowner with a leaking roof from a competitor checking your ad.

What we count

Conversations worth having

Every call transcribed and scored on what was actually said. A call that rang out to voicemail is not a customer, and any system counting it as one is flattering you.

The report you get

Form fills

Counted at the moment of submit, including the bots, the vendors and the person who wanted your address.

What we count

People describing a real job

Carrying the click id that says which ad produced them, so the platform learns from the work you won rather than from the volume it generated.

The report you get

189

Leads this quarter

One total, no dates and no outcome. Impressive on a slide and impossible to act on at eight in the morning.

What we count

10 / 1

Appointments held, jobs sold

The same pipeline counted at the end instead of the beginning. Ten appointments held and one job closed this month is a smaller number and a truer one.

The report you get

Keyword rankings

Position three for a phrase nobody in your county types. Real, measurable and worth nothing.

What we count

Revenue traced to a customer

Jobs sold against what was spent to win them, with breakeven marked so nobody has to interpret the chart for you.

The report you get

A monthly PDF

Arrives on the eighth. Written by the people being graded by it. Opens with the best month it can find.

What we count

A login that counts customers

Open at any hour, built from your own records, showing the bad months exactly as clearly as the good ones.

The Screen That Counts Customers.

This is a real client account, a Long Island home improvement company, on their own domain. Captured 24 September 2026. Their name is blurred at capture, so the file never held it. Nothing else is edited.

Total invested against revenue attributed, and a return per dollar with breakeven marked on the bar. That figure is built from jobs sold, not from conversions the ad platform reported about itself.

Client portal screen showing total invested, revenue attributed, net return and return per dollar against a breakeven marker

Month to date, 1 to 24 September 2026. Invested is Google plus Meta spend. Attributed revenue is jobs sold multiplied by this client's own average job value, not a category benchmark.

data.your-own-domain.com/calls
Call audit screen showing 200 calls over 90 days, 52 second average duration, 17 qualified leads and a 17 percent booking rate

200 calls scored over 90 days. 17 of the 95 inbound were worth a quote.

data.your-own-domain.com/pipeline
Lead pipeline screen showing 189 live leads split by age into current, aging and fading, beside appointments held and jobs sold

The 189 from the row above, and the 10 appointments and 1 job it has produced so far this month.

How the right column gets built

Fix the Leaks. Build the Engine. Compound It.

About ninety days, and the first third of it looks like nothing. Budget and content poured onto broken tracking is money set on fire.

  • Call tracking that is missing, or installed and never checked
  • Forms that drop the click id, so paid leads report as direct traffic
  • A CRM that never tells the ad platform which lead became a customer
  • Search Partners left on, quietly buying junk on local campaigns
  • Landing pages borrowed from the website instead of built for the campaign
  • Conversion actions counting a page view as a lead
  • Google Business Profile categories set once in 2019 and never revisited
  • Calls arriving after hours with nothing to answer them

FAQ

Questions We Hear Every Week

Straight answers. If something is not here, ask us on the audit call.

Do you report leads or customers?

Both, in that order, and the one we are judged on is customers. A lead count with no outcome attached is the number every agency can make go up.

What does the free marketing audit actually include?

Your top local competitors and what they are doing to outrank you, where your current ad spend is leaking, and the demand in your market nobody in your category is capturing yet.

Do I have to get on a call before I see anything?

No. The audit is delivered first. The call is optional and comes after.

Does every client get the portal?

Yes, on your own domain, built from your own records. Nothing in it is an estimate we typed in.

How fast can you start?

Usually within a week of the strategy call. Tracking and access come first, which is a few days, then the media work begins.

What if I am already under contract with another agency?

That is usually when the audit is most useful, because you can see what is working in your own numbers before you decide anything.

What do you need from me to start?

Access to your ad accounts, your site, your Google Business Profile and your CRM. Everything stays in your name.
