Long Island

What Marketing Actually Costs on Long Island.

Real Nassau and Suffolk click prices from Google's own planner, what drives them, and how to buy marketing by the booked job instead of the invoice.

What does digital marketing cost on Long Island?

It depends on what a click costs in your trade, and here that spread is enormous: Google's own planner puts top-of-page bids at two to eight dollars for a chiropractic click and over a hundred for roof replacement, with every other trade in between. So the honest answer is arithmetic, not a price list: your trade's click price, times the clicks it takes to win a job, against what that job is worth. An agency quote that ignores that math is a number pulled from the air.

  • The click market. Google sets it by auction, trade by trade, county by county.
  • Your job value. A $400 callout and a $40,000 roof justify very different budgets.
  • The real number. Cost per booked job. Not cost per click, not the retainer.

Where the money actually leaks

Cheap Marketing Is the Expensive Kind Here.

Affordable does not mean the lowest invoice. It means not paying for waste: clicks from towns your crews never drive to, calls that ring out to voicemail, budget spent flat through a season your trade does not sell in, and leads nobody follows up with inside the hour. We have watched accounts cut spending and win more jobs at the same time, because the spend that left was never going to become work.

That is why we start with an audit instead of a package price. The waste is where the affordability lives, and it is different in every account.

What sets your number

Five Things That Decide What You Will Pay.

Every one of these is measurable before you spend a dollar.

01 / 05

  1. 01

    Your trade's click price

The planner ranges below are real Nassau and Suffolk numbers. A pest company and a roofer running the same budget are not running the same number of chances to win work.

  2. 02

Which county, and it cuts both ways

Nassau bids run higher for HVAC; Suffolk runs higher for roof replacement. The premium follows the trade, not the county line, which is why we price towns separately rather than assuming one side of the Island costs more.

    Measured per county, never assumed

  3. 03

    The season

Most Long Island trades do not sell evenly across the year. Budget that arrives with the season pays peak auction prices for the same customer.

  4. 04

What a job is worth to you

A one-off callout and an annual plan have the same acquisition cost and wildly different revenue. Lifetime value is what makes a click price affordable or ruinous.

  5. 05

    Who answers the phone

The cheapest lead is the one you already paid for and nobody called back. Speed to lead is a cost lever that costs almost nothing to pull.

FAQ

Questions We Hear Every Week

Straight answers. If something is not here, ask us on the audit call.

How much should a Long Island business budget for marketing each month?

Work it from the click math rather than a rule of thumb. At the roughly $16 to $60 a plumbing click costs here, a search test that buys about 100 clicks a month is $1,600 to $6,000 in media before management. A chiropractor can run the same test for a few hundred dollars. The budget question is really: how many chances to win a job do you need each month, and what does your trade charge for each one?

Why are Long Island clicks so expensive?

Three million people, dense competition in every trade, and high job values. Auction prices follow what a customer is worth, and a Long Island roof or heating system is worth a lot. Expensive clicks are not the problem; expensive clicks that never become booked jobs are.

Is Nassau more expensive than Suffolk?

Not uniformly, and anyone who tells you one county simply costs more has not pulled the data. In the October 2026 planner data, HVAC bids run higher in Nassau while roof replacement runs sharply higher in Suffolk. The premium follows the trade. We price and measure the two counties separately because the data says they behave separately.

What makes a marketing agency affordable?

Waste removed, not rates discounted. An agency that cuts the towns you cannot serve, pauses the season that does not sell, and gets the phone answered is cheaper at a higher retainer than one that sets up a campaign and reports clicks. Judge affordability on cost per booked job over a quarter.

Do you publish your pricing?

No, because the honest number depends on the click market above and on what your jobs are worth, and a package price ignores both. Every engagement starts with the free marketing audit, which tells you what you should be paying before you pay us anything. And you own your ad account with us, always, so you see every dollar of media spend at cost.
