Social, and what it is actually for.

Organic and paid social for a local business. Which platforms earn the time, what a post is supposed to do, and the difference between an audience and a customer.

Social does two unrelated jobs and confusing them is what makes it feel like it does not work. Paid social creates demand from people who were not looking for you, which is a different transaction from search and is measured differently. Organic social mostly maintains credibility for people who are already deciding, which is real and is not a lead source. Judging either by the other's standard produces the two familiar complaints: the ads did not build a following, and the posts did not ring the phone. Neither was ever going to. The posts collected here cover what each half is genuinely for, what a local business should post and how often, and how to read paid social reporting without mistaking reach for demand.
