The decisions around the marketing.

Budgets, agencies, capacity and hiring. The questions an owner has to answer before any channel decision is worth making.

Most of what limits a marketing program is not the marketing. It is capacity, cash flow, who answers the phone, and whether anybody owns the follow-up once the lead lands. An agency that ignores that half will happily sell more leads into a business that cannot service the ones it already has. The posts here are about the operating side of a small company, written from fifteen years of sitting on the other side of that table: planning a year when last year's numbers are incomplete, deciding what to fund when the budget will not cover everything, marketing through a slow quarter, hiring against demand that has not arrived, and what to expect from an agency before you sign anything.
