Marketing notes for contractors and home improvement companies.

Roofing, siding, hardscape and remodeling, where the job is high ticket, the decision takes months, and the season decides everything. Demand capture during the research half, and proof that survives three competing quotes.

A contractor's year is not a flat line and marketing that treats it as one wastes most of the budget. Demand for a roof arrives in a storm week and demand for a kitchen arrives in January, and the two are bought completely differently. Underneath the season there is a second problem: a high ticket job gets three quotes, so the marketing that wins is the marketing that survives a comparison you are not in the room for. That is a proof problem more than an advertising one. The posts collected here cover both halves. What to spend on during the research months, what to do when a storm puts every competitor on the same street, how to price a lead against a job rather than against a click, and what to change when the phone rings and the estimate never gets sent.
